Endocrine disruptors (plasticizers)
Evidence level : Probable BathroomMechanism : Hormonal disruption burden
🟡 Several human studies point the same way, with a plausible biological mechanism, but the evidence is not yet conclusive.
- Where it's found
- Perfumes and eaux de toilette, hairsprays and styling sprays, nail polish, heavily fragranced creams, vinyl shower curtains.
- Suspected mechanism
- These molecules mimic or partially block the action of sex hormones; in men they are associated with lower testosterone and reduced sperm quality.
- Suggested alternative
- Choose "fragrance-free" products and reduce the number of scented cosmetics used each day. One product fewer is better than one perfect product.
- Source
- ANSES (French agency for food, environmental and occupational health safety), reports on endocrine disruptors; Human Reproduction Update reviews.

Including a factor does not mean it causes infertility: it is simply worth monitoring, depending on its level of evidence.
