🟠 Some signals exist (animal studies, small human studies) but results are conflicting and the scientific community is still debating them.
- Where it's found
- Sodas, industrial juices, energy drinks, iced teas: colorants (including azo dyes), preservatives (benzoates), artificial flavorings, beyond sugar alone.
- Suspected mechanism
- These additives are individually assessed at an acceptable dose; their combined and repeated consumption alongside other dietary sources (cocktail effect) remains little studied specifically for fertility.
- Suggested alternative
- Favor water or homemade drinks (infusions, water with fruit) to reduce this accumulation.
- Source
- EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), additive re-evaluations; ANSES, report on substance mixtures.
